Caveat Emptor – Buyer Beware!

When entering into a contract with your builder make sure you do your due diligence.

Ask for 3 references and check them!
Have they ever been to arbritration with a client over a dispute?
Have they ever been sured by a client?
Are they a licensed contractor?
Is the name on the contract the company you are hiring to do the work?
Have any of their workers or subcontractors stolen from their clients?
Have they ever failed to complete a contract?
Do not enter into a contract with an arbitration clause, ask that it be removed from the contract.
